Dr. Mike Rhodabarger was the founder of Skills Analysis and the heart behind its mission. A servant leader, mentor, and visionary, he believed that leadership was not about position, but about purpose: living with integrity, uplifting others, and creating lasting impact. His passion was to empower leaders to become the best versions of themselves and this commitment to transformative leadership continues to shape everything Skills Analysis stands for today.
With a Master’s in counseling and a Ph.D. in organizational leadership, Dr. Mike published two books on leadership and personal growth. He identified a gap in existing leadership tools, one that Skills Analysis was created to fill. This assessment delivers the depth and clarity leaders need to make a real impact. His legacy lives on in every leader it helps shape.
By mapping instinctive tendencies, like dominant or structured, against research-backed competencies like empathic, decisive, and visionary, Skills Analysis helps leaders connect the dots between what comes naturally and what actually works. It is behavioral science applied where it matters most: the interpersonal decisions leaders make every day.
Skills Analysis is refined through ongoing research and real user feedback so every insight stays relevant and useful.
Counterintuitive Leadership identifies leadership behaviors that are directly associated with personality traits. The challenge is that those behaviors, which are common among leaders, are unsustainable and ineffective. This book opens the reader’s eyes to the reality that there are leadership practices that are not natural to our human nature but must be developed nonetheless.
